About Us

Register’s Auto Collision originally opened in 1975 in Wilmington on Harley Road in the same location where the current Harley Road Shop is housed. Steve Register, President and owner of Register’s Auto Collision, worked for his father for a number of years, before taking over the business in 1980, when his father passed away. Steve ran the business along with his brother, Shane, until 1998, when Shane sold his share of the business. Steve was running the Hampstead Shop at the time. He then opened a second shop in Wilmington.

In 2004, Steve further expanded to add a large shop in Monkey Junction in South Wilmington.

Then came the newest location in Leland, which opened for business in April 2014.

“It takes quite an investment to open a collision shop, due to the cost of equipment,” said Steve. “Precise measuring instruments, massive frame straighteners, state-of-the-art Standox spray booths and paint formulation equipment, not to mention the myriad of tools necessary to disassemble and reassemble automobiles, all come with hefty price tags. But you can’t do the job right without the proper tools and equipment.”

“Our biggest investment is in our people. The combination of friendly and reliable office staff, experienced estimators and highly trained technicians all come together to offer our customers a positive experience and superior results.”

“Our collision repair technicians are experts in their craft, whether its assembly, wiring, body work or painting. They are always improving their skills and knowledge, keeping up with trends  and innovations in the car repair industry.”

” Today’s automobiles require precise measurements and fit—within millimeters. We use the best parts available and negotiate the best price, to deliver a perfect repair at a reasonable price.”

“With today’s paint technologies, we can provide our customers with a Lifetime Guarantee. If a problem develops with any repair we have done, customers can return to one of our location and we will fix it at no charge.”

Register’s prides itself on being a locally owned, family operated business that is setting the bar for quality workmanship and treating customers honestly and fairly. They are proud of the reputation they have earned in the industry, through year’s of hard work and reliability.
